    Imagine a world that has no land, all covered with an ocean of water. Billions of people are drowning in this sea called "Sin." In this world there is no place of refuge from the waves and storms of life. There are plenty of sharks, and dangers in these waters and only one hope of salvation! There is only one ship, called "Present Truth." Jesus Christ is the Captain. If you are aboard The Present Truth and safe from the deadly ocean of Sin then this is a time, "to rescue the perishing"

To the faithful, who know God and keep His commandments, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I am writing this book on July 20, 2000 for the Glad Stone Oregon Camp meeting now in process. I write this in honor of Amazing Facts founder, Joe Crews, and his book "Creeping Compromise."  To all who own a copy, I encourage you to read it again. To those whom do not I strongly urge you to write Amazing Facts and purchase a whole case and give them to every Seventh Day Adventist Christian in your church!

    

To begin I would like to candidly proclaim, we are in the shaking and the sifting time right now. Today is the final time just before the close of probation. Today the enemy of souls is diligently working to bring in apostasy into the ranks of the commandment-keeping people of God. Standard after standard from prince Immanuel is being trampled under foot and being left to trail in the dust among company after company in the Seventh Day Adventist church.

    

"Today there is need of the voice of stern rebuke; for grievous sins have separated the people from God. Infidelity is fast becoming fashionable" Prophets and Kings p.140.

    

"If God abhors one sin above another, of which his people are guilty, it is of doing nothing in a case of emergency. Indifference of neutrality in a religious crisis is regarded of God as a grievous crime; and equal to the very worst hostility against God." Review and Herald September 30, 1873.

    

As a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, I believe the writings of Ellen G. White to be, "The Spirit of Prophecy." I believe the Remnant are they, which keep the commandments of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the Spirit of Prophecy (Revelation 12:17; 19:10). I believe that these writings are given to the Remnant to be a light to their path to keep them from falling into the snares of Satan, and that rejecting the Testimonies would lead large companies back into worldly customs. This would lead to compromise and apostasy among many of our ranks.

    

We had clear warning from God through these writings that there was to be a terrible shaking among God's people. That every thing that could be shaken would be shaken. That every Christian who would not compromise would be placed under severe trials of persecution. Those in the church who left off the historic SDA standards, and fell back into worldliness in their style of worship, those "among our own ranks" would be largely responsible for this persecution. The faithful loved God and their neighbor as themselves; because of this they could not remain silent while people though sincere in the reasons chose a course that was in rebellion to the Testimony of Christ, The Spirit of Prophecy.

    

The straight testimony of the Spirit of Prophecy, which would rebuke the open sins of the church, would cause the shaking. Separating the people into two camps. Today the modern name of these two groups, are "The Liberals" and, “The Conservatives" The Liberal point of view is very different from Historic Seventh Day Adventist theology and worship. "By the cy, Liberality, men are blinded to the devices of their adversary, while he all the time working steadily for the accomplishment of his object. As he succeeds in supplanting the Bible by human speculations, the law of God is set aside, and the churches are in bondage of sin while they claim to be free." The Great Controversy p. 522.

     

Among celebration Adventist churches, the celebration music and church services are much like those in the Pentecostal, and Assemblies of God churches. I strongly recommend that you obtain a video from "Advent Herald Ministry" called "Are You Ready for Church?" (PO box 112 Canby Oregon 97013). With video footage of the recent Oregon Conference Camp meetings in the youth tent. As well as services at the Sunny Side SDA church in Portland, Oregon, and several other local examples of extremely "Pentecostal" style worship services among Adventist's! With several SDA pastors supporting it, encouraging and at times participating in it! In fact the North American Division Youth Director, is seen sitting in the front row enjoying the kids put on a Rock N' Roll concert, with shouting and drums and heavy electric guitars; and kids dancing in the aisles! Get this video and see it for your self.

    

"Those things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music and dancing .The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din of noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit working. The Holy Spirit has nothing to do with such a confusion of noise and multitude of sounds as passed before me last January. Satan works amid the din and confusion of such music, which, if properly conducted, would be a praise and glory to God. He makes its effect like the poison sting of the serpent. Those things which have been in the past will be in the future. Satan will make music a snare by the way in which it is conducted. God calls upon His people who have the light before them in the word and in the testimonies, to read and consider, and to take heed. Clear and definite instruction has been given in order that all may understand." Selected Messages Volume 2, p. 36-38.

    

"Mere noise and shouting are no evidence of sanctification, or of the descent of the Holy Spirit. The Lord desires to have in His service, order and discipline, not excitement and confusion." General Conference Bulletin April 23, 1901.

    

A Roman Caesar named Constantine, was responsible for the first Sunday law on March 7, 321 A.D. How was the Roman Empire able to persuade the Christians to leave off the worship of God in keeping holy the Seventh Day Sabbath, and mislead them to accept Sunday? It was done in the way these two days were observed. Sunday was made a festive day of feasting and fun! While the Sabbath was made boring, and full of drudgery, and forced fasting. When the decree came that did away with the Commandment of God, the people rejoiced.

    

Contemporary music is an invention of the world, not of the church. Is a Christian to seek methods of music that imitates worldly customs to worship God? No!  Celebration music is festive and fun, and it does feels good. I recently attended the Sweet Home SDA church that would sing several celebration praise and worship songs and then a Hymn, during Sabbath worship. In contrast the Holy Hymns appear to the senses to be boring and unappealing. This new worship that makes that which is holy appear unattractive, should alert the watchmen of Zion to take notice and sound the trumpet! This was Satan's method of changing the Sabbath to Sunday!

    

The apostate Protestant churches are imitating every type of music that the world has to offer. Rap, Heavy metal, Rock N' Roll, Country, Alternative, Jazz, the Blues, Oldies. Now the Seventh Day Adventist churches are imitating the Apostate Protestant churches, the daughters of Rome! A worldly custom adopted into the church is an abomination to God!

    

Adam had two sons as you well know. Cane and Abel. Both worshiped God. One did it man's way and went on to receive a mark. The other did it God's way and was persecuted by the one in apostasy. The only worship accepted to God is that which is clearly written in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. Hymns are endorsed by both!

 

"Speaking to yourselves in psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart unto the Lord" Ephesians 5:19.

 

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" Colossians 3:16

 

The "spiritual songs" we were to sing, were to make a melody in our hearts. That word in the Greek, is a beautiful worship music, such as playing the harp; truly a melody. According to the Strong's it is directly related to psalms or hymns!

 

"The long drawn-out notes and the peculiar sounds common in operatic singing are not pleasing to the angels. They delight to hear the simple songs of praise sung in a natural tone. The songs in which every word is uttered clearly, in a musical tone, are the songs that they join us in singing.” Evangelism p. 510.

    

The most exalted holy and beautiful music in the universe is sung by the angels of Heaven. They sing day and night, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory" Isaiah 6:3. This is the standard that man must strive to reach! Today just the reverse is happening. The church is striving to become just as close to the world in music, as possible, instead becoming closer to Heavens standard. Does the world know more about worship than angels do? Let us leave off the world with its entanglements!

"Love not the world, neither the things of the world, if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15.

   

It is a sin to love the entertainment of the world, and to seek to imitate it in any way! There are three tests in Daniel that the faithful will be faced with.

 

1. Appetite (chapter 1).

2. Worship and music (chapter 3)

3. Worship that a civil law prohibits  (chapter 6).

    

"Many who are now only half converted on the question of meat eating will go from God's people to walk no more with them" Councils on Diets and Foods p. 382.

 

"It has been clearly presented to me that God's people are to take a firm stand against meat eating." "Those who use meat disregard all the warnings that God has given concerning this question. They have no evidence that they are walking in safe paths" Councils on Diets and Foods p. 383.

    

If the first test of appetite is not overcome, the passions in the heart will not be subdued and the test of music will be failed as well. All the people were commanded to worship when they heard all kinds of music playing. "At the time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth the same be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace" Daniel 3:5,6.

    

When they heard this bedlam of noise, and all kinds of music they were to begin to worship. All who would not worship to this music would be placed in a furnace of fire. Here is the test for the remnant in the church, whom Satan hates. All who will not worship to this carnival of noise with shouting and beating drums, dancing, and every other uncouth thing will be persecuted by those who do.

    

During the sifting time those who said nothing and were indifferent to worldly customs coming into the church went out into darkness. Only those who blew the trumpet, and sighed and cried over these abominations received the seal of God. By the straight testimony of the Christians rebuking the compromise in "culturally relevant" worship services the shaking of Laodicea was going to begin to do its work. (Please read "The Sifting Time" in Councils for the Church.

 

Was the music in Daniel 3 both holy, and acceptable to God? Or did Satan work, "amid the din and confusion of such music" to lead the world into heathen worship? Satan, who was once the most gifted musician in Heaven, used his abilities to lead the people to go after their idols. Should not God's people take heed?

 

     "Music is acceptable to God only when the heart is sanctified and made soft and holy by its faculties. But many who delight in music know nothing of making melody in their hearts to the Lord. The heart is gone "after their idols." Evangelism p. 512. Music can be an idol! ! !

 

Any who compromised principals in appetite and went on to gratify their feelings, disobeying the Testimonies in worshipping to feel good celebration music would go on to fail the final test yet to come. A law was decreed forbidding worship; In Daniel's time forbidding prayer. Daniel overcame appetite. His friends overcame the idol worship mingled with worldly music. Thus he was ready for the true test. And worshiped God despite the death decree of a civil law given by the government. Which today will be the National Sunday Law!

         

Vatican II, a council in 1962-64, clearly stated Rome's plan to destroy Protestantism. This included bringing in "celebration music!" Spiritual songs and Hymns were apart of the New Testament Christians armor to defend him against the devil. By bringing in a counterfeit music Satan could begin to disarm Protestantism. Placing the music of the world in the church, with godly lyrics would appear innocent to the unsuspecting Christian.

    

Such would have only the form of godliness. Allowing Satan to place his chains upon the affections, implanting a lust for the worldliness in that style of music.  He would no sooner depart from this music than would a young man depart from his young bride. Satan would have bound his desires and given it a cloak of religion to justify it. Songs are a form of prayer. Christ forbid all prayer with vain repetition (Matthew 6:7). Most charismatic music has only two or three lines of lyrics that repeat over and over. This is not worship that God approves of for such is "as the heathen do."

    

The world’s music in comparison to that of the church would sound no different in the ears of a man from a foreign language that could not understand the lyrics. However a clear difference could easily be heard comparing them with hymns. When worship appears no different than the music of the world, when the lyrics are silenced, or not understood, it should be clear that this is not holy music, rather worldly and having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.

    

Satan desires to bring apostasy into the ranks of the commandment-keeping people of God by incorporating worldliness into its worship. Leaving the historical standards of what is holy in the eyes of God. In Ministry of Healing in the chapter called "Mind Cure" is found instruction to sing these hymns. In fact "Revive us again," and "Blessed Assurance" is written in its entirety in this chapter. So we can know for sure that the Hymns are holy and acceptable to God.

     

In the Chapter called, "The Sifting Time" in Councils for the Church pp. 338-340 is written the following. "The enemy is diligently working to see whom he can add to the ranks of apostasy" How does Satan seek to deceive the Christians in the SDA church into joining the ranks of apostasy?

    

"Standard after standard was left to trail in the dust, as company after company from the Lord's army joined the foe, and tribe after tribe from the ranks of the enemy united with the commandment keeping people of God"

   

Note: The historical SDA standards were abandoned, while companies of commandment keeping Christians joined themselves to the foe though worldliness. This is apostasy! The third chapter of the Great Controversy tells how the early church compromised with the worldly customs of their day (to win the world to Christ!). The Roman Catholic Church was the result of this apostasy. She continues,

 

"An angel flying in the midst of Heaven put the standard of Immanuel into many hands, while a mighty general cried out with a loud voice: 'Come into line. Let those who are loyal to the commandments of God and the testimony of Christ (Loyal SDA Christians), now take their position. Come out from among them and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean, and I will receive you..."

 

When the standards were left to trail in the dust among the commandment keeping companies, the loyal SDA Christians were called by the angel, to come out from among them. In the sifting time when the church pastors would lead their congregations to go bowling, miniature golfing and imitate Sunday Churches "Celebration music" clapping hands, and using theatrical skits and dramas deceiving entire companies of the Lord's army into joining the ranks of apostasy against the Testimonies. At this time the Loyal SDA Christians were told by the angel to take their position, and come out from among them.

   

I do not interpret this message to say that the Seventh Day Adventist Church is Babylon, and that we are to come out her. No! It is clearly stated that this was in context to coming out of the companies among the Seventh Day Adventist Church left standard after standard to trail in the dust. A couple Sabbaths ago I went to the Springfield SDA church and sat in with the College age group. The talk was about "jam sessions." A "Christian" rock band was started by several of the youth in that group. The discussion was about a resent concert at that church, in which even some visitors were offended and got up and left! One of the group leaders was discussing how it would be a good idea for them as a group to visit a Sunday church service for the purpose of learning more about their style of music! After 5 minutes of this I could not listen to any more!

    

In Councils for the Church from the statement I just shared said that during the sifting time when companies of commandment keepers left Historic SDA standards compromising in apostasy; the faithful were to take there stand and come out from among them. So I followed the council of the Spirit of Prophecy and left their crying unto God from the grief my heart felt from learning of the strong delusion Satan had placed upon those youth. God warned that everything that could be shaken would be shaken during this terrible sifting time. Every one who would compromise principals of truth and righteousness and would follow a multitude to do evil during times of peace and prosperity would surely fail the final test during the time of trouble.

 

"I want to sound in the ears of these sleepy half paralyzed souls the words spoken to Nicodemus, 'except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.' There is need to ask God with all the heart, TO ELEVATE THE STANDARD. The commonness, the cheapness of conversation reveals the spirituality of the members of the church. Now those who have lived years in this same experience know not God nor Jesus Christ whom he hath sent. . . .There is hope in only one direction. Take the young men and women, and place them where they will come as little in contact with our churches as possible, that the low grade of piety which is current in this day shall not leaven their ideas of what it means to be a Christian."  Last Day Events (Manuscript) p.88. The youth are the future leaders of the church. You NEED to see the video "Are you ready for church?" The General Conference is directly responsible for the celebration music by giving the youth direction in this area. This video clearly shows the documentation on all of this. More than this, the General Conference has given $10,000 for every state conference to give subsidy to send our Pastors to the Willow Creek (a non-denomination church of 15,000 members) to take courses on how to convert their churches into celebration churches! See it for yourself. Get that video!

     

Their SDA pastors learn how to use drama and theatrical skits, both religious and secular! and learn how to gradually bring in the celebration music by having a special night when the church comes and sings only moderately contemporary music, and later brings in stronger contemporary music. The aim is for a "culturally relevant" worship service for the "unchurched." The Willow Creek church did a survey asking the world, what they wanted in a church, and gave it to them. "Culturally relevant" is merely a politically correct way of just saying a worldly worship service.

 

"Almost imperceptibly the customs of heathenism found their way into the Christian church." The Great Controversy p. 49. "Conformity to the worlds customs converts the church to the world; it never converts the world to Christ" Ibid. p. 509.

    

I am writing this for the purpose of waking the watchmen up. Ravenous wolves have come in among the flock to devour as many as possible. It is time to take a stand and give the straight testimony of the True Witness. Pastors are not above the Word of God, or the Spirit of Prophecy. If your Pastor or church is not following the light they must be rebuked and given a call to repent, just like everyone else! Our loyalty is to the Commandments of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ which is the Spirit of Prophecy i. e. the writings of E. G. White. Only those that recognize this truth will stand when everything that can be shaken will be shaken.

 

"Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins" Isaiah 58:1.

    

"Here we see the weakness of Aaron. Had he stood with true moral courage, and in boldness rebuked the leaders in this shameful request, his timely words would have saved that terrible apostasy. But his desire to be popular with his congregation, and his fear of incurring their displeasure led him to cowardly sacrifice the allegiance of the Hebrews in that decisive moment." "The congregation of Israel thought Aaron a much more pleasant leader than Moses." Testimonies for the Church volume 3, p. 340,341.

 

In Moses day when the Conference President, (the High Priest Aaron) and all the Pastors (the Elders of Israel) were in rebellion against the plain, "Thus saith the Lord" Moses did not join that congregation and try to reform it from the inside, Oh no! He called to those who were with the Lord to come out from among those who were in apostasy. Thus was the Protestant reformation she came out from Rome. Thus is every true reformation.

    

Church members need to hold their Pastor's accountable, for what they do. Sin is not to be excused because someone respected and held in honor does it. God is no respecter of persons. The Bible warned about many false teachers, and prophets. Being a Seventh Day Adventist pastor does not automatically disqualify him from being in the group classified as being wolves in sheep’s clothing. Do not blindly follow any man.

 

"But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines, and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as the churches they represent, the voice of the majority,--- not one or all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religion or faith. Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain "Thus saith the Lord" in its support."

 

"Satan is constantly endeavoring to attract attention to man in the place of God. He leads the people to look to bishops, pastors, to professors of theology, as their guides, instead of searching the scriptures to learn their duty for themselves. Then by controlling the minds of these leaders, he can influence the multitudes according to his will." The Great Controversy p.595.

    

We are not to blindly follow pastors and church board decisions! We must unwaveringly obey the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy! And follow the authority of our church ONLY as it is in harmony with both! If such is true, submission to church authority a commandment of God! However if those in authority are leading the congregation to violate the word of God or the Spirit of Prophecy, then "we ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29.

    

Is your pastor leading your local church to compromise with liberalism? Do you see "celebration music" creeping into your church? Find a faithful conservative Seventh Day Adventist minister and join his congregation. Come out from among the companies who insist in imitating the world in their worship. It is a sin to use strange fire in the worship of God. He, who has ears to hear, let him hear. Speak up against compromises in your church. Go to your church board meetings and voice, not your opinion, but a "Thus saith the Lord." Listen to preachers like Stephen D. Lewis (Call 1-888-321-WORD), and Doug Batcherlore, and Mark Finely. All great preachers of righteousness and truth. Test out even their teachings by the Word of God!

    

It is time that conservative Seventh Day Adventist come together, and become one mind, and one heart and takes a stand against these things. Come together, and talk about the issues in your church, and decide to do something about it, instead of quietly year after year just saying such and such is wrong.

    

Satan wants the faithful Adventist to just remain scattered. He knows that so long as they are alone and spread out that little or nothing will be done or said about the backslidden condition of the church. If the people of God would unite in the faith and join together in raising the banner of prince Immanuel higher and higher the final movements that Jesus is waiting to see among His church would rapidly begin to happen.

    

The church of Laodicea would begin to separate into the two groups. Each clearly beginning to show their fruit as to the true character they have. God's children should begin this reformation TODAY! Call all the conservative Adventist in your area. Ask for them to call all the conservative Adventist solemn assembly. Form a company of faithful SDA Christians. Become one heart, and one mind, and make it your mission to share the Three Angel's Messages in your city or town. Get literature out door to door like the leaves of autumn. Go out two by two. Pray for a reformation of primitive godliness. Just a warning if you do...persecution will come... and mostly from among people in the church.

    

 

Were this to happen in your local church and you encouraged the people in other local churches to come together and take a stand for Jesus Christ to serve Him and to no longer just play church, and no longer compromise with the rest of the congregation. Then city after city would get the SDA Literature. Paul was used to reach the whole world.    

 

What would happen if we all began to actively go door to door? That is not an idea the Mormon's or Jehovah's Witnesses came up with. It came from Jesus Christ. We should be foremost in obeying His command!

    

Press together, press together, press together! Work together, work together, work together! If you will not do door to door work and just leave a tract on someone’s door step (if you are shy) today, you will not be willing to do it when you might be thrown in jail, tortured and killed for doing it once the National Sunday Law is enforced. Do not deceive yourself! If you want to be faithful in His army then, you must take up the full armor of God today and fight the good fight of faith today and start winning souls to the truth today. Jesus said, "Follow me and I will make you a fisher of men." IF YOU ARE NOT FISHING FOR MEN YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING JESUS!

    

That's putting it plain enough! He never said follow me and I will entertain you and tell you soft peaceful things and then give you a potluck afterwards! and the rest of the week is yours to do with as you please. Choose you this day whom you will serve. He's knocking! Open the door!

    

Thank you for reading this booklet. I am only 26, years old. My views are purely from honest conviction. I have listened to every kind of music the world and "Christianity" had to offer, and my flesh enjoyed almost all of it. But I love Jesus more.

    

Friend, please think seriously about this object lesson. Noah was given 120 years to preach that destruction was about to come upon the whole world. As Noah built that massive boat and was mocked by every body as he pleaded for their lives, with tears in his eyes and sweat on his face.  At this time can you imagine him listening to Party music? Of course not.

    

Noah was 600 years old when he entered the ark and the flood came. Only three of his sons, and their wives survived with He and His wife. Surely Noah had many brothers and  sisters, and family members and people he loved very much who died. Read chapter 7 of Patriarchs and Prophets. Things were so terrifying that even Satan feared his destruction had

 

Imagine yourself in the boat. Your family and people you love and spent over 100 years preaching to had just died. All world had just been destroyed. You are being sustained by the grace of God as mighty angels keep the boat steady. In Noah's Ark, could you listen to party music? No of course not. It would be the holiest and most solemn music possible. Holy! Holy! Holy Lord God Almighty!

 

A good rule for the Christian is doing nothing that would be offensive to God in Noah's Ark. Today we are approaching a day when Billions of people will receive the Mark of the Beast, and the wrath of God. Millions of Christians will be and even now are being killed for their faith in the Word of God and Jesus Christ. Do you really think "Celebration music" is appropriate?

 

We are now living in earth's most solemn hours. Probation is about to forever close upon mankind. Be sober, be vigilant, wake up and take heed! This investigative judgment is now ending. Christ is soon to remove the High Priestly robes, to place upon him the garments of vengeance. The seven last plagues are soon to come upon the wicked. This is no time to party and celebrate! "Be afflicted and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into heaviness." James 4:9.

 

      Harden not your heart against the words of the prophets, "Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your hearts and not your garments and turn unto the Lord God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger. . . . Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly. Gather the people, sanctify the congregation." Joel 2:12-16

 

This is prophecy the Apostle Peter referred to on the day of Pentecost. This is the same experience that will also bring the Latter Rain! Satan is seeking the complete opposite. During a time when we need to search our hearts and mourn and weep over our sins and the sins of our neighbors, coming together with the faithful Christians, having solemn assemblies, with fasting. Becoming one heart and one mind for the purpose of giving the final warning message to earth. During this time Satan wants us to celebrate and think everything is just fine. No! The Bible says that at this time, the end of the age, we need to be working out our own salvation with fear and trembling! Who will take heed and be saved.

 

In an earthly trial before a Judge of this world though innocent, were you to start dancing and having a carnival and party, you would be held in contempt. The hour of His Judgment IS come! In the Day of Atonement men needed a solemn searching of their hearts. It was no day to celebrate. Please study the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy and fast and pray, and come together with faithful conservative Adventist and do service for Christ Jesus your King.
