David,
Thank you for your message and
the concern it expressed. I see that you also sent your message
to the Biblical Research Institute. That is the organization
that deals more directly with offshoots and such ministries as
you've described. You are aware, it seems, of Mrs. White's
articles relating to movements that form around criticisms of
the church in Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 15-62.
Perhaps you can glean some choice statements from those pages
that will help those who are being affected by this
organization.
Due to itineraries and the
holidays, it may be a little while before BRI is able to
respond.
May God bless you in your
service for Him and in your fellowship with His church.

Folks I
will post the reply from the Biblical Research Institute and other
Adventist Ministries I am contacting as soon as I receive them. I
expect to see Nicholas's ministry added to the Independent
Ministries section on the Biblical Research Institutes web site very
soon. Thanks! David M. Curtis
Dear David,
Many of the quotations presented are precisely the statements
that Ellen White confronted in the mid-1890s when she penned her
articles now found in TM. She could not have been any clearer
about such movements. If persons choose not to accept her
testimony, it's usually because they already have their minds
made up.
Our office does have a document
called "God's True Church" which I have attached. It is
available in printed format (and has been since 1986), and it is
among many others that we are in the process of preparing to add
to our website along with the other papers found in our Issues
and Answers section. It has additional statements that are
helpful in presenting Ellen White's teachings about the church.
But if persons choose not to believe Ellen White's own
testimony, why should we expect them to accept a statement from
the Estate? The chapter on "The Shaking" in Last Day Events
is another source where the idea is clearly refuted that God's
true remnant are the ones who leave the church. Rather, it is
the "sinners in Zion" who are shaken out. My point is that her
testimony is readily available for those who are honestly
seeking to know and follow the truth, to those who are open to
the Spirit's teaching.
