One thing that sets Jesus Christ apart from all the rest, is for centuries, in fact for over a millennium, prophets had been making predictions about His birth, His life, His death, His resurrection, and His eternal reign as the King of Kings.

The amazing thing about the prophecies concerning Christ, is that no one during Christ’s life seemed to understand that Jesus was in the process of fulfilling them, not until after He died, and was resurrected with very few exceptions.
It was through understanding these prophecies after the fact that helped solidify the faith of millions.
And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers: Acts 26:6
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

It was faith in these prophecies, and their belief that Jesus Christ fulfilled them that inspired the apostles to go to the far reaches of the world to tell people about Him. These prophecies gave millions hope and faith as they faced persecution and martyrdom.
Please do not miss this. It wasn’t merely some doctrine, or mode of theology that preserved these men and women’s faith. It was these prophecies.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2
When we look at the book of Acts, and the writings of the Apostles, their stories all have one thing in common as a driving force. It was as though they were on a roof top crying out, “listen people, the prophets all said these things would happen in great detail, now look at the life of Christ and see for yourself how he fulfilled their prophecies in every detail.”
