Disclaimer: This study is not suited for those who are new to studying the Bible, who are still on the milk of the word. Today we are getting into some real juicy meat!
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 1 Corinthians 3:2.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Hebrews 5:12.
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. Hebrews 5:13.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2.
This is not an easily read fictional novel with liberties added into the narrative, rather it is a deep study into God’s word, examining exactly what the Bible says on the subject! If you decide to study the Great Tribulation and begin to feel bogged down, IT IS PERFECTLY OK! Not everyone is ready to go this deep into Bible prophecy yet. So if that happens return to your studies on Sanctification, Justification, the Seal of God, Forgiveness of Sins, the Gospels, especially the Gospel of John, the commandments in the New Testament, the promises of the New Covenant, and most importantly the Cross. Once you have an good understanding of the essentials of the gospel, you can try to take on some deeper subjects, like trying to understand The Covenants. When you feel you are ready, this study on The Great Tribulation, will still be here waiting for you.
The Great Tribulation
I remember a telecast back in 1993, when a graphic Hollywood worthy presentation presented the locusts of Revelation 9 and transformed an image of a locust into a modern day military helicopter. These sincere Christians relied on the similarities between the two images to prove their interpretation was correct. Friends this is something the Bible describes as a “private interpretation.” The correct way to interpret symbols used in prophecy is to allow the Bible to be its own interpreter. If the Bible gives a symbol we are not left guessing what it ought to mean, rather we are to search the Bible to find a scripture that tells us exactly what the symbol is. We are asking you to hold this ministry accountable to the word of God. If The Loud Cry Ministry shares ANYTHING that is not specifically defined in scripture, hold us accountable to it.
Rule #1 The Bible is its own interpreter. “My opinion is not worth a hill of beans!”
Key # 1 “The Connection Between the 7 Seals and Matthew 24”
Sequence of Events in Revelation 6
Sequence of Events in Matthew 24
We have already made a remarkable discovery. Matthew 24 is one of the keys to understanding the Seals in Revelation 6! The Bible is not a book of coincidences, rather the Holy Scriptures were inspired by the holy Spirit and designed by an infinitely wise and all knowing God. Every detail, right down to the timing of when things were written is a testimony to the design and purpose of the Lord, in the way the Bible was put together. Revelation 6 was written AFTER the destruction of Jerusalem. Which means Matthew 24 has a dual application!
- Application # 1 “The destruction of Jerusalem”
- Application # 2 “The Last Great Day.”
Matthew 24:15 Refers to the prophecies of Daniel and admonishes us to understand them.
Compare the following verses carefully…
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
The seven last plagues will be THE GREATEST TIME OF TROUBLE, greater than any previously experienced. Matthew 24:15 refers to the writings of the Prophet Daniel, and then in verse 21 Jesus makes reference again to Daniels writings using the very same language as we found a moment ago in Daniel 12:1.
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
This is clearly a reference to the same time of trouble. They both claim to be the greatest time of trouble the world will ever experience. Matthew 24 and Daniel 12 are both referring to the time of Revelations the all time Greatest Tribulation the world has ever known ending with the 7 Last Plagues. The Seals and Trumpets of Revelation describe the sequence of events which lead up to the Seven Last Plagues!
In this study we are going to be digging deep into the word. It is recommended that you only progress to the next page, and the page after only after you have received a thorough understanding of what is presented thus far. If you hurry along too quickly you may begin to feel bogged down, since this is some “heavy material” that we will be examining.
We will be experiencing an exciting adventure that is full of amazing discoveries found in many of the major books of the Bible, including Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zachariah and others including the Gospels and the writings of the Apostles, which will help us to unlock the keys of prophecy and understand the Great Tribulation!
We are going to progress slowly, revealing a new key and unlocking new mysteries on each subsequent page that follows in this study. Remember to proceed at your own pace, and only after you have come to understand what each new page unveils about these amazing prophecies.
